Built-in active circuitry converts the incoming electrical signal into an optical signal on one end, and back into an electrical signal on the opposite end. The cable circuitry draws minimal power that it receives from either the connected USB host or USB peripheral device. All other non-bandwidth intensive or low-speed signals are carried on the integrated copper wires, including USB 2.0/1.1, EDID, HDCP, and power. The USBC Pro 8K Series allows for power requirement negotiations between connected USB devices that support Power Delivery - USB PD. This enables either the host or the peripheral device to deliver power.
